NASA is investigating UFO sightings.. know the details

CNN revealed that NASA President Bill Nelson, who took office only last month, has asked agency researchers to look at the series of UFO sightings reported by US Navy pilots over the past two decades.

“The bottom line is we want to know,” Bill Nelson said. “And that’s what we’re trying to do.”

News of the UFO sightings broke in late 2017, when the New York Times and Politico reported that Navy pilots had repeatedly discovered UFOs while performing maneuvers that were far more advanced than anything their planes could do.

These stories also revealed that in 2007, the US Department of Defense created the Advanced Aerospace Threat Identification Program (AATIP) to investigate observations of unidentified flying objects or UAPs (“Unidentified Atmospheric Phenomena”), as the military recently renamed, and the AATIP was officially abolished in 2012, but the Pentagon put together a successor task force last summer.

The drive to get to the UFO mystery continued to grow into December 2020, when then-Senator Marco Rubio, the chairman of the Senate Intelligence Committee, asked the Pentagon and the Director of National Intelligence to submit a non-confidential report on UFO sightings to Congress within six months.

“I want us to take it seriously and have a process that takes it seriously,” Rubio said, stressing that any unknown object detected in US airspace is a national security threat.

“I want us to have a process of analyzing the data every time you come in, to have a place where that data is constantly indexed and analyzed so that we get some answers,” Rubio added. “She might have a very simple answer, maybe not.”
