The Egyptian security forces arrested my brothers upon their return from Qatar via Sohag Airport, to implement a life sentence against him after his participation in violence following the dispersal of the Rab’a and Al-Nahda sit-ins.
A security source revealed that the returning Brotherhood member was a fugitive from a life sentence for being accused of participating in the storming of the Matai police station in Minya Governorate, killing the station’s warden, and being involved in riots following the dispersal of the Rabaa and Al-Nahda sit-ins in August 2013.
He added that the accused, called “Ramadan Y.S.”, was born in 1980 and works as an Arabic language teacher, and his name is included in Case No. 8473 of 2013 Felonies of the Mattai Center, in which he was sentenced to 25 years in prison for breaking into the center and killing the warden.
He revealed that the accused is one of the active leaders of the Brotherhood in Minya and fled to Qatar at the end of 2013, and remained there until his return yesterday evening.
He said that the accused was deported to Minya Governorate, in preparation for the execution of the sentence issued against him.
