The Cairo Economic Court is considering a lawsuit filed by Senerfnar Mustafa Mohamed Qadri, Sarah Nour El-Sherif Gaber Mohamed, May Nour El-Sharif Gaber Mohamed, the heirs of the artist Nour El-Sharif, against the legal representative of La Poire stores.
The lawsuit was filed to use the well-known stores “La Poire” “as a scene of their inheritance in the series of the Hajj Metwally family, an employee with his image with an alternative voice to promote their products – La Poire stores – as Eid,” according to the seventh day.
The lawsuit papers revealed that “the lawyer of the late Nour al-Sharif’s family submitted a request at the end of May 2020 to the Economic Court to delegate an expert on property rights to review a copy of the advertisement in question, and a statement on whether the legal representative of “La Poire” stores took written approval to offer the exploitation of that scene. The lawsuit filed by the family of the late artist Nour al-Sharif was based on the fact that “the performers and their general successors enjoy an eternal moral right that cannot be waived or prescribed, which entitles them to attribute the live or recorded performance to the performers, as they created it, and the right to prevent any change or distortion or distortion in their performance.
The competent ministry shall exercise this moral right in the absence of an heir or a bequest, after the expiry of the period of protection of financial rights stipulated in this law.
