French President Emmanuel Macron on Thursday urged his international compatriot Kylian Mbappe to stay at his current club, Paris Saint-Germain, and continue to compete in the French Football League.
Macron said in a television interview during his visit to the French national team, which is preparing for the European Championship “Euro 2020”: “It is better for him to continue in the ranks of Paris Saint-Germain for the club and for the French championship. But despite that, I cannot pressure any player.”
And earlier this week, Nasser Al-Khelaifi, president of Paris Saint-Germain, said that Mbappe will continue in the ranks of the French capital club and will compete with him in the French championship next season.
The 22-year-old’s contract with Paris Saint-Germain expires in the summer of 2022, and he is currently rejecting all renewal offers from the club, and the name of the young French striker has been linked to the move to Real Madrid, where the Spanish club president Florentino Perez has been seeking to include the player for a long time.
