Press reports revealed that the Dutch midfielder Georginio Wijnaldum preferred to move to Paris Saint-Germain from Barcelona during the current summer transfers.
According to what was revealed by “Sky” journalist Fabrizio Romano today, Sunday, Wijnaldum decided to move to Saint-Germain after the club offered a salary that was twice the salary offered by Barcelona.
Wijnaldum was close to joining Barcelona after the Catalan club concluded its agreement with the player two weeks ago, with a date set for his medical examination.
Romano added that the Barcelona administration has no intention of raising the financial offer it made to Wijnaldum, so that the player is ready to accept the offer of Paris Saint-Germain on a contract that extends until 2024.
It is noteworthy that Wijnaldum, 30, his contract with Liverpool expired at the end of the past season 2020/2021, so that the player has the right to move to any other club for free in a free transfer deal.
