Zamalek set forward towards qualifying for the Super League final after a thrilling victory over Al Jazira with a score of 73-71, after resorting to extra time after the regular time ended with a 64-64 draw.
Thus, Zamalek leads Al Jazira 2-0, in a series of confrontations between them in the framework of the Super League semi-final matches.
The first period ended with Al Jazeera advancing 20-15, then the team continued its progress and ended the second period and the first half in its favour, with a score of 36-33.
Zamalek ended the third period with a score of 54-51, and then the fourth period witnessed exciting events between the two teams, as Al-Jazira was ahead by two goals with a score of 64-62, but Zamalek managed to equalize in the last seconds after scoring two points to tie the two teams 64-64, to resort to resort to overtime.
The extra time witnessed excitement in its events, as Zamalek advanced before the end of the meeting through Walter Hodge, bringing the result to 73-71, and then came an attack by Al Jazeera, but they did not succeed in scoring.
The last game was reviewed by the referees after referring to the video technology, but the referee indicated not to count a mistake for the Al-Jazira player.
The third match between Zamalek and Al-Jazira will be held at 8:30 pm.
Zamalek needs to win one match in order to pass to the final, while Al-Jazira needs 3 matches to qualify for the final.
