The Brazilian press made space to talk about the upcoming match against the Egyptian team in the quarter-finals of the Tokyo 2020 Olympics, but the focus was on international Mohamed El-Shennawy.
The Egyptian team is scheduled to face its Brazilian counterpart on Saturday in the quarter-final matches of the men’s competitions at the Olympic Games in Tokyo.
And the newspaper uol stated, through a report published today, that if the Brazilian team wants to pass to the next round, they must defeat goalkeeper Mohamed El-Shennawy.
She added, “If the Brazilian team wants to win, they will have to defeat goalkeeper El-Shennawy, who is treated as a “champion” in two Africas, and the fans in Brazil know him, especially after the match against Palmeiras in the Club World Cup 5 months ago in the Qatari capital, Doha.”
The newspaper reported the El-Shennawy incident at the 2018 World Cup in Russia, when El-Shennawy refused to receive the Man of the Match award against Uruguay for religious reasons.
