Zamalek’s coach, Patrice Carteron, said that Al-Ahly is “more protected” than the White Club, adding that the penalty for the team’s player, Imam Ashour, was harsh.

During television statements on On Time Sports, Carteron said: “Mohamed Sharif was a young player when I was in Al-Ahly, and he was not on the African list and did not have enough experience, but he achieved a great level at the present time and is very happy with what he reached with Al-Ahly and I appreciate him very much.”

He added: “There is less information that comes out from Al-Ahly about Zamalek, Al-Ahly is (more protected) as happened with Mohamed El-Shennawy before, as for the players of Zamalek, there are many special matters that come out strongly on the media, I spoke about this with the president of The club is for the team to remain stable and maintain a state of mind.”

He continued, “The punishment against Imam Ashour was harsh, and the age of the player had to be taken into account, and the matter was exaggerated for a tournament the size of the Youth League.”

The former Al-Ahly coach spoke about Mahmoud Al-Khatib, the club’s president, and said: “Mahmoud Al-Khatib is a great leader and he used to do everything and make things easier for me when I was coaching Al-Ahly and I respect him a lot. It is special for Al-Ahly that a man with his equal strength runs the club.”

He continued, “My next task is to lead an African team in the World Cup. I know that this can happen, and this is one of my goals in the future.”

And he continued: “One of the negative things in the league is the difference between the matches and the delay in starting the competition, this gives difficulties in bringing players and we saw the case of Ferjani Sassi, it is normal that the league ends in June, but this did not happen, the dates of the matches affect the major teams, especially in the Champions League.” .

And he concluded: “I thank the fans of Zamalek, I feel their love for me and the club, when I took over the training of Zamalek and Al-Ahly, I knew that the Egyptian people support either Al-Ahly or Zamalek, and the fans of the two clubs always look forward to winning titles.”
