FilGoal | News | The 2021 Africa Cup of Nations draw will be on August 17th


The Confederation of African Football (CAF) announced today, Thursday, the date of the draw for the Cameroon 2021 African Cup.

The draw will take place in the conference hall in Yaounde, the capital of Cameroon, at 8 pm Cairo time on August 17th.

24 teams will know their rivals in the continental championship, which starts next January 9, during the draw.

Caf will later announce the guests of honor and the procedures for the lottery.

The draw will divide 24 teams into 6 groups according to the position of the teams in the FIFA rankings.

Egypt will participate in the tournament for the 25th time in its history.

The Pharaohs are the record holders in the number of championship titles with 7 titles.

Egypt will most likely be in the second classification of the draw, which means that it will fall against Cameroon, Senegal, Algeria, Morocco, Tunisia or Nigeria.

Algeria will defend the title after winning the last edition in Egypt 2019 with a goal at the expense of Senegal.
