Walid Suleiman, Al-Ahly player, said that winning the African Champions League for the ninth time in the history of his club at the expense of Zamalek will remain in everyone’s minds a lot because it was achieved at the expense of Zamalek.

Walid Suleiman spoke to Al-Ahly TV channel, saying: “The ninth tournament is different from the tenth because it was against Zamalek, a match for history, and the first final between the two rivals in Africa.”

He continued, “We were able to win, and the championship will remain stuck in everyone’s minds a lot, especially with the superiority of Zamalek in the number of African championships, reaching double now. Zamalek has won the championship five times and Al-Ahly ten times.”

And he added, “We used to say that this tournament will be very important for this generation of Al-Ahly and as a basis, and as we learned from a generation before us that when you face Zamalek, you must win because it helps you excel in the rest of the season and perhaps the next seasons.”

Regarding when he will return to group training, he said: “After two weeks, I started running since I was in Morocco with the team, in preparation for the Kaizer Chiefs meeting.”

On winning the African Champions League this season, the player nicknamed Al-Hawi commented, “The African Championship is our first championship this season. We did not complete the league or the Egyptian Cup, so we must continue to strive to win more championships.”

He continued, “If the Al-Ahly player is satisfied with winning championships, he will not last long.”

Walid Suleiman praised his coach, Pitso Musimani, and said: “What I liked the most from Musimani is when he came to the club, he communicated directly with Fyler to get to know the players personality closely and shorten the time to work faster in a period of stress.”

Al-Ahly defender Saad Samir agreed with him, who said: “What I liked the most from Musimani is when he came to the club, he communicated directly with Fyler to get to know the players personality closely and shorten the time to work faster in a period that was stressful.”

Saad continued, “Mousimani involves the players in tactics and always talks with the captains of the team. Musimani is the best point in his communication with all of us, and in the end any decision he makes.”

Regarding the saturation of the championships, Saad said: “Have we crowned anything? We are looking at the golden generation of Al-Ahly led by Muhammad Abu Trika and Wael Jumaa, and we want to repeat what this generation has achieved so that we will be placed in the same position as them.”
