Ibrahim Hassan advises Shawky Gharib: Akram Tawfik is not enough in Tokyo

Ibrahim Hassan, director of football for the Alexandria team, sent a message to Shawky Gharib, coach of the Egyptian Olympic team, to amend his list before going to the Tokyo Olympics.

In statements to the “Awad Al-Labs” program on Al-Nahar TV, Ibrahim Hassan said: “No one in Egypt has talked about the crisis of having only one defensive midfielder in the Olympic team’s list.”

Shawky Gharib announced the list of Egypt’s national team participating in the Olympic Games in Tokyo this summer, supported by three players from the first team, namely: Mohamed El-Shennawy, Mahmoud El-Wansh, and Ahmed Hegazy.

Ibrahim Hassan added: “If Shawky Gharib can add more than one midfielder to the list, I hope that happens. I would like to remind him of that, because we will not play against Ethiopia or Mauritania in the Tokyo Olympics.”

Ibrahim Hassan concluded: “The Egyptian national team must have three players in the defensive midfield at the highest level. There is no other player on the list who can play this role, only Akram Tawfik and this is not enough.”
