Al-Ahly coach Pitso Mosimane admitted his frustration after the positive draw for each team with Al-Ahly Bank in the postponed match of the 25th round of the Premier League.
In the press conference after the match, Mosimane said: “Frustrated with myself and with the players, we did not play well today, not only in the last five minutes, but in the last quarter of an hour, we did not control the match.”
Al-Ahly received the equalizer three minutes before the end of the original time, to lose two valuable points on the journey back to the top of the league table occupied by Zamalek.
Mosimane added: “Football always punishes you when you miss opportunities and this is what happened. This is football, but we will fight for the league title and try until the last game.”
Al-Ahly coach continued: “The league is no longer entirely in our hands as it was, but no one knows what could happen in the future. We will play until the last match, and we must fight to the end, only God knows what will happen.”
And Pizzo concluded: “I am not one of the coaches who blames referees and circumstances. It is true that we were affected by the absence of 6 players with the Olympic team, but we are helping our country. We could have refused their departure like European clubs, but we did not do that and support the team.”
