Sources in the General Syndicate of Physicians said that after the pages of the social networking site “Facebook” raised the illness of the artist, Yasmine Abdel Aziz, members of the council were surprised that a famous cardiologist “J.S.” wrote on his personal page information about the artist’s condition, in English and Arabic, noting In his narration of this information, he relied on hearing information from doctors, since he is not the doctor treating the patient, pointing out that Dr. Karim Mesbah, a member of the General Syndicate Council, announced his intention before the Eid al-Adha holiday to file a complaint against the doctor to take the necessary measures regarding him, and expressed his solidarity with him in the complaint. A number of council members are: Dr. Ibrahim Al-Zayat, Dr. Eman Salama, and Dr. Ahmed Fathy.
The sources explained, to “The Seventh Day”, that due to this coincidence with the Eid al-Adha holiday, the complaint has not been formally submitted so far, pointing out that the doctor’s disclosure of the secrets of the patient’s condition, regardless of his personality or job, is a violation of the medical ethics regulation, as The Code of Professional Ethics prohibits the doctor from disclosing the secrets of the health status of his own patient, or a patient with another doctor, explaining that the penalties stipulated in the regulation start from censure and warning, and reach temporary suspension or expungement.
The sources indicated that the doctor’s violation of professional ethics, his punishment will not reach a temporary suspension or write-off, and will only be limited to blaming or warning for not repeating the matter, adding: So far, no official complaint has been submitted, and the union will resume work next Sunday after the end of the vacation.
