To hide chats .. a new feature from WhatsApp

The WhatsApp platform has added a new option to manage your group chat threads, with archived chats now remaining archived and hidden even when sending new messages, according to Al

In detail, archiving across the platform allows you to organize your private messages and prioritize important conversations. Your archived conversations are now archived and muted. But you can change it back.

Users have always been able to archive WhatsApp chats, but now you will no longer receive notifications about new messages for those chats you have archived.

This also basically lets you hide them from view. You can check them in your archive and reactivate them whenever you like.

In turn, Will Cathcart, head of WhatsApp, revealed that if you have an annoying group cluttering your inbox, you can use the new archive to keep the active message thread out of your inbox with access to it whenever you want.

Vacation mode

The platform has been experimenting with its archive options over the past couple of years with actually testing this feature as “vacation mode” back in 2019.

Several users also expressed frustration that archived conversations reappear in their inbox whenever a new message is sent.

Transfer conversations

Separately, you may soon be able to easily transfer WhatsApp chats from iOS to Android using the Android data recovery tool.

Google Data Recovery is the standard Android tool for transferring data from one device to another, and the tool is soon getting the ability to transfer WhatsApp chats from iOS to Android.

Although multi-device support was recently introduced in a beta version of the app. But the limitations of only one smartphone still remain, meaning there is no easy way to transfer platform messages from iPhone to Android.

However, the data recovery tool in the built-in Android transfer app is poised to get the ability to do so.

Also soon version 1.0.382048734 of Data Restore Tool app can transfer chats and history from iOS to Android.

In addition, this feature is currently not working because WhatsApp first needs to turn on the required migration settings, and this may happen sooner rather than later as the platform is working on migration options.
