FilGoal | News | Al-Ahly announces its African list, and it includes a young duo


Al-Ahly announced the names of its players who joined the African list for the new season, in preparation for the African Champions League competitions.

Al-Ahly coach Pitso Mosimane included 33 players for the African team’s list.

Al-Ahly’s list witnessed the inclusion of the youth team duo Ahmed Nabil Kouka and Ahmed Sayed Gharib, in addition to goalkeeper duo Mustafa Schubert and Hamza Alaa.

The Confederation of African Football decided to raise the number of players in the lists of teams participating in the African Club Championships to 40 players instead of 30 players.

Participating teams have the right to complete their lists during the second registration period before the start of the group stage.

The list of African Al-Ahly came as follows:

Goals: Mohamed El-Shennawy – Ali Lotfi – Mustafa Schubert – Hamza Alaa.

Defense: Rami Rabia – Yasser Ibrahim – Mahmoud Metwally – Badr Banoon – Mohamed Hani – Ahmed Ramadan – Ayman Ashraf – Ali Maaloul – Mahmoud Waheed

Middle: Karim Walid – Amr Al-Sulayya – Akram Tawfik – Hamdi Fathi – Mohamed Mahmoud – Aliou Diang – Mohamed Magdy “Afsha” – Nasser Maher – Walid Suleiman – Hussein Al-Shahat – Ahmed Nabil Koka.

Attack: Mohamed Sharif – Junior Ajayi – Kahraba – Taher Mohamed – Salah Mohsen – Walter Bwalya – Marwan Mohsen – Ahmed Sayed Gharib.

Al-Ahly, the defending champion, plays the last two editions of the 32nd round against the National Guard of Niger or Le Message of Burundi.

The first leg matches will take place on 15, 16 or 17 October, and after the return week in Egypt.
