A medical study conducted by researchers at the British University of Oxford stated that the effectiveness of a dose of the “Pfizer-Biontech” vaccine against the emerging corona virus diminishes faster than the effectiveness of the same dose of the AstraZeneca vaccine.
The study, the results of which were published today, Thursday on the British “Oxford Mail” website, indicated that the initial effectiveness of two doses of the Pfizer vaccine has a stronger immediate effect against infection with the “Corona” virus, but it diminishes faster compared to two similar doses of the Oxford vaccine “AstraZeneca”.
The study was conducted based on the results of the “BCR” tests conducted by the British Department of National Statistics on a random number of Britons who received the vaccines in the period from September of last year to the month of August.
The study, in which the British Nuffield University Medical Department participated, revealed that “the immunity dynamics that the body acquires after the second dose injection differs very clearly” between the two vaccines after several months.
The Oxford University study added that the rates of infection prevention among recipients of the two vaccines were higher among those who contracted the virus before receiving the vaccinations.
This study was conducted on two groups of Britons, numbering more than 300,000 people over the age of 18, and included the period during which the “alpha” mutation was spread in southeast Britain, as well as the period following the spread of the “delta” mutation after last May. The study confirmed that the effectiveness of the two vaccines is the least in relation to the confrontation of the “Delta” mutator.
This study comes at a time when the United States of America decided to start giving additional doses to Americans next September, following the emergence of fears that the effectiveness of the two doses of the Pfizer and Moderna vaccines, the most commonly used in vaccination campaigns in the United States, appeared.
