Percy Tau will meet his former coach Pitso Mosimane again, but this time in defense of Al-Ahly Eagles, after they had previously achieved a wonderful double when they met at Mamelodi Sundowns in South Africa several years ago.

Al-Ahly club announced last week the contract with Percy Tau for the next 4 seasons, coming from Brighton, England, to reunite him again with Mosimane, with whom he previously achieved great success during his time with Sun Downs.

Kick of South Africa reviewed some of the amazing numbers that Tao achieved under Mosimane, as the duo managed to win 6 titles during their time at Sundowns together.

Tao succeeded in winning the South African League twice and crowning the only Champions League in the history of Sundowns, when he led him, with Betsu, to victory over Zamalek in the final match in 2016, in addition to winning the African Super, the South African Cup and the Nedbank Cup.

The 27-year-old winger has made 102 appearances in all competitions under Mosimane, playing a direct role in the 51 goals scored by Sundowns, scoring 24 goals himself and helping his teammates score 27 others.

These numbers contributed to Sundowns achieving exactly 50 victories, while the team received only 26 defeats while Mosimane and Tao were in the team, with 26 exits with a tie.

Tao, who received 9 yellow cards under the leadership of Mosimane, succeeded in obtaining the award for the best player in South Africa and the golden scorer in the 2017-2018 season, and this is the cornerstone of his subsequent move to the English Premier League through the Brighton gate.

Aside from Mosimane, Tao had problems with his work permit in England, which contributed to his lack of participation with the team, and prompted him to go to several professional experiences in the Belgian League with clubs Union Saint-Gillows, Club Brugge and Anderlecht.

After 6 matches played by Tao with Brighton, the South African star chose to leave in search of participation and more time to play, to strengthen the ranks of Al-Ahly, the champions of the African Champions League in the last two editions.
