French Patrice Carteron, coach of the Zamalek team, talked about the club’s new deals, explaining that Omar Kamal Abdel Wahed, who comes from Al-Masry, is an important player and is good at playing in 4 positions, and will help the team in the coming period.
The coach added, in statements to the official website of Zamalek, that the player attended the team’s training after the deal was officially announced, and stressed that the Zamalek team would benefit greatly from the player’s tactical flexibility during the coming period.
And he commented on the deal, Mahmoud Shabana, the new defender of the team, who joined from Aswan, saying: “A good and young player, and he will have a role with the team next season.”
In a related context, Carteron confirmed that all the matches that the team played in the league last season were difficult, adding that he did not confirm that the team won the title until after the end of the military production meeting in the penultimate round of the championship.
The coach stressed that there was an internal feeling and indications that Zamalek was approaching the league title, such as the victory over the teams of Tala’a El-Jaish and Al-Ittihad of Alexandria in the last minutes.
He explained that Zamalek deserves the league title, and the team made a great effort in the second round, especially the last 7 weeks, to seize the title after a fierce competition with the opposing team.
