Ex-Apple chief design officer Jony Ive heads to work with Ferrari.. know the details


After finalizing the design of the iPhone, iMac and other best-selling Apple gadgets, former design expert for the tech giant Jony Ive turns his attention to the cutting-edge engines, according to the tech website digital trend.

And Bloomberg reported this week that two years after leaving the tech giant as head of design, Eve embarked on a partnership with Ferrari.

The “multi-year” collaboration will see Ferrari work with LoveFrom, the creative agency set up by Ive and fellow designer Marc Newson shortly after leaving Apple in 2019.

The Ferrari owner said in a statement: “The first expression of this new partnership will be seen in Ferrari’s legendary performance and distinction with the unparalleled LoveFrom experience and creativity that define exceptional products that changed the world.”

Beyond that, is there little information about what Yves and Newson will do at Ferrari, taking on a complete vehicle design? And maybe focus on specific car components? And maybe make accessories for the Ferrari brand?

And we can hope that all will be revealed before long, although a report in the Financial Times this week suggests the pair could be tasked with working on Ferrari’s first all-electric car, which is due to debut four years from now.

Yves also has a long-standing interest in car design, according to him in a 2014 interview with Time magazine, revealing that after dropping out of school, he briefly attended an automobile design course at Imperial College London, but was soon postponed because “the classes were full of students who Make Frome! LoveFrom’s engagement with Ferrari comes nearly a year after the design firm announced its partnership with Airbnb. The collaboration has been described as a “private collaboration”, although details about the partnership are scarce as the Ferrari announcement.
