Patrice Carteron officially renewed his contract with Zamalek for the next three seasons. (See details)
Carteron said in statements to Ontime Sports 1: “The renewal of Zamalek is an important matter for me, because I want to win many trophies, as I have said since my arrival. I see that the board of directors is working hard to reform the club’s affairs, and fortunately I have a good relationship with them and we work in one direction”.
He added, “I received many offers, of course, as a champion of the Egyptian League with Zamalek, but my desire was to continue with Zamalek, and therefore I agreed to renew without much thought.”
Carteron continued, “With this group of players we have achieved achievements, so the new reinforcements will certainly add to us with the return of the loanees. On the contrary, I think that we need to loan some players. Whether the ban is imposed or not, this group is enough for me.”
And he continued, “The current camp aims to prepare the team for the two Tusker matches in the Champions League, in addition to preparing the players of Egypt, Morocco and Tunisia for the next international break.”
The French coach continued, “Stopping Shikabala? For this reason, I am happy for the return of Mustafa Fathi and Mohamed Onajem, which will allow me additions and solutions that were not available last season to deal with these situations.”
He continued, “My renewal of Zamalek is a message of confidence from me to the club, which reflects the stability that the club is currently enjoying.”
The Zamalek coach went on to say, “Football has changed and is no longer the same as before, that it gets a month’s rest starting in May. The world is talking about holding the World Cup every two years. Therefore, we must deal with the cohesion of seasons.”
And he concluded, “Didn’t Zamalek win the league except for a long period of time? This phenomenon I have been fighting since my arrival. Who acknowledged this phenomenon based on history? You are the one who creates the event through the stadium.”
Zamalek is preparing to face Kenyan Tusker on October 15, in the 32nd round of the African Champions League.
