FilGoal | News | Warda scores the first Egyptian appearance in the history of the European Conference League

Timor Kitsapia, coach of Cypriot Anorthosis, pushed his Egyptian player Amr Warda against Serbian Partizan Belgrade in the first round of the European Conference League.

Warda became the first Egyptian ever to score in the tournament, which is starting for the first time this season.

The Conference League is ranked third in terms of importance after the European Champions League and the European League.

Anorthosis is participating in the competition after his farewell to the European League from the qualifying stage, and he is in the second group, accompanied by the Belgian Gent and the Estonian Flora.

The Egyptian playmaker moved to the Cypriot league at the beginning of the season after his departure from the Greek club PAOK.

Warda made his first appearance in the Anorthosis shirt last Sunday in the Cypriot league for 67 minutes against Doxa Katokopias, without scoring or assisting.

Warda previously participated in the European League, but he never played in the Champions League and only appeared in the preliminary stages.
