German club fans stand against contracting a Spanish player because of a pornographic movie

Schalke 04 fans have frustrated the process of signing Serge Enrich in a free transfer deal during the past few hours, due to a pornographic movie in which the player was involved.

The German club agreed with Enrich, the former Eibar and Mallorca player, that the latter was scheduled to undergo medical examinations on Wednesday, but public pressure on the administration prevented the completion of the procedures and forced the club to issue an official statement to announce the cancellation of the player’s deal.

Schalke fans stood against the deal to include the 31-year-old because of a pornographic video of him and one of his friends having sex with a woman that spread on social media.

According to the German newspaper “Bild”, the Spanish court sentenced the player and his friend to two years in prison and a fine of 100,000 euros after they admitted publishing the video without the woman’s consent.

This was not the only reason for which the club’s fans rose up, but also because of an audio recording of Serge Enrich that spread widely, in which he used racist terms against his colleague Eddie Sylvester.

Enrich previously played in many Spanish clubs, where he played for Real Mallorca, Alcoron and Numancia, while his last stop was with Eibar before his contract expired at the end of last season.

Schalke is currently active in the German second division after relegation last year after occupying the last place, and for the second time only in its history.
