Patrice Motsepe, President of the Confederation of African Football (CAF), expressed his satisfaction with the preparations he saw in Cameroon in preparation for the African Cup of Nations, noting that they would impress the world.
A CAF delegation led by Patrice Motsepe and Secretary General Veron Mosengo-Omba visited the stadium that will host the opening and final match of next year’s African Cup of Nations, the Olympic Stadium in Yaounde.
“I am very satisfied with the briefing I received and what I saw, I saw an Olympic stadium, which is world-class,” Motsebe said in statements to the CAF official website.
He added: “In partnership with the government, the Minister of Sports, the Local Organizing Committee, the President of the Cameroon Football Federation and the CAF administration under the leadership of Veron Mosengo-Omba, I am sure that in January next year we will wow the rest of the world. “.
“The quality of football that will be played here will once again show the world that Africa has the potential to win the World Cup one day, and that is the biggest goal,” Motsebe concluded.
It is worth noting that Egypt is in Group D along with Nigeria, Guinea-Bissau and Sudan.
