The media office of the “Ros Cosmos Foundation” announced that the committee of the countries participating in the International Space Station project proposed to continue operating the station after 2024, and the office’s statement stated, “The issues related to extending the operation of the International Space Station were discussed in early September during the periodic meeting of the Committee.” Security and safety. After discussing the current status of the station, the committee suggested continuing the necessary maintenance operations, allowing the International Space Station to carry out its missions after 2024.

According to RT, the members of the committee agreed to continue to work to coordinate issues related to extending the operation of the International Space Station, with the relevant government agencies.

It should be noted that the end date of the operation of the International Space Station, according to the agreement of the participating countries, is the end of 2024. But at the same time, the issue of extending the station’s operation period continues to 2028 and even to 2032.

Sergey Savelyev, Deputy Director General of Roscosmos for International Cooperation, had announced earlier that the issue of extending the operation of the station would likely be discussed during the scheduled meeting of Dmitry Rogozin, Director General of “Ros Cosmos” and Bill Nelson, President of NASA. It will be held next October in the United Arab Emirates.
