Danny Jordan, president of the South African Football Association, announced his country’s desire to host the next Club World Cup instead of Japan, after the latter’s apology due to the Corona virus (Covid 19) epidemic.

“Before my meeting with FIFA Secretary General Fatma Samoura, we will know our position by the end of the week,” Jordan told the Associated Press.

According to the South African newspaper, “Kick Off”, the president of the Football Association will hold a meeting with officials in order to obtain the government’s approval to host the tournament.

The South African newspaper pointed out that if South Africa wins the right to host the World Championship, the Sundowns team will have the right to participate as the champion of the league last season.

Al-Ahly is scheduled to participate in the Club World Cup for the second time in a row, after winning the African Champions League title against Kaizer Chiefs, 3-0.

On the other hand, Chelsea participates as champions of the European Champions League in the last edition, after beating compatriot Manchester City with a goal without a response.
