Today, Saturday, the “Taliban” movement retracted its declaration of control of Panjshir Valley, indicating that it has made progress in the stronghold of the anti-movement resistance.

It also indicated, according to what RIA Novosti reported, that it was able to control the Annaba and Khanj regions.

This came after the Taliban spokesman, Bilal Karimi, announced yesterday evening, Friday, that The movement has extended its complete control over all of AfghanistanIncluding Panjshir.

Today, Saturday, the National Resistance Front denied Karimi’s claim. Ahmed Masoud, the leader of the front, broadcast a video showing the continuation of the clashes in the morning, stressing that he will not back down or give up the fight.

dead and wounded

The Taliban had fired indiscriminate bullets yesterday evening in Kabul, to celebrate the “alleged victory” in the valley lying northeast of the capital.

While the Taliban spokesman, Zabihullah Mujahid, criticized on Twitter the practice of shooting in the air and called on the militants to stop it immediately.

While the “Tolo” channel reported that 17 bodies and 41 injured people were transferred to a hospital in the capital as a result of shooting across the city, an official at the emergency hospital in Kabul said that two people were killed and 12 wounded, according to what the Associated Press reported on Saturday.

Negotiations failed

It is noteworthy that the Resistance Front had previously expressed its hope for dialogue with the Taliban, pledging at the same time to defend the valley surrounded by hundreds of fighters from the militant movement.

Indeed, behind-the-scenes negotiations took place over the past few days, but they failed. Later, Massoud said that the movement “offered to allocate two seats to the National Front of Resistance in the government they want to form while we demand a better future for Afghanistan.” “We didn’t even think about” her offer, he said, estimating that the Taliban “chosen to go the path of war.”

It should be noted that the Panjshir Valley, the stronghold of the anti-Taliban for a long time, is a closed and inaccessible valley in the heart of the Hindu Kush Mountains, whose southern end lies about 80 kilometers north of the capital, Kabul.
