The Japanese auto giant Toyota has revealed the 2022 crossover version of its best-selling Corolla, with specific design differences from the version first announced in July 2020 in Thailand.
The Toyota Corolla is the best-selling car in history, with sales over four decades that have seen the release of 12 generations exceed 50 million copies so far, and this number is expected to increase rapidly with the launch of the new Corolla Cross.
The Corolla Crossover came with limited and clear design touches in the graphic design on the headlights, while changing the position of the main grille downward and increasing its width among other touches.
The Japanese version got lightly modified taillights and new LED graphics, and the interior looks identical to the global version as well, except for the change of location of the steering wheel and of course the pedals to the right.
The Japanese version will be available with a 2.0-liter 4-cylinder engine with 169 horsepower, standard or all-wheel drive, and a new 1.8-liter hybrid engine.
In addition, the Japanese company, Modelista, announced a package of additional, more powerful and better performance modifications, based on the requests of those wishing to Corolla Cross, with bold front bumpers, new 17-18-inch wheels and updated fenders, among other aesthetic touches.
According to reports, Toyota Corolla Cross prices in the Japanese market will start at approximately $18,150 (EGP 290,400).
