Turki Al-Sheikh, head of the Saudi Entertainment Authority, owner of the Spanish football club Almeria, responded to the statements of the head of the committee that manages the affairs of the Egyptian club Zamalek, Hussein Labib.
Al-Sheikh said on his official Facebook page: “I have seen some of the statements that came out in which my name was mentioned, and I wanted to make it clear that all the money that was paid in sports investment in my second country, Egypt, was aimed at investing and loving Egypt and the good people of Egypt.”
Hussein Labib had said yesterday, Friday, that Turki Al-Sheikh was paying good amounts to the Zamalek club, noting that for a while, Zamalek was based on these funds, and he also paid money to some players in the deals.
Al-Sheikh added on his clarification: “I hope not to include my name in any topic. My sports investment page in beloved Egypt ended years ago and there is no benefit or favor from me, but rather it was an investment and support from a lover of Egypt, its leadership and people.”
He concluded: “I wanted to clarify this, and I hope that you will understand my desire to close the conversation in the past, which will not help anything, with all my love and appreciation.”
