President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi received today, Aguila Saleh, Speaker of the Libyan House of Representatives, and Field Marshal Khalifa Haftar, Commander-in-Chief of the Libyan Armed Forces, in the presence of Minister Abbas Kamel, Head of General Intelligence.

Ambassador Bassam Rady, spokesperson for the Egyptian Presidency, stated that the meeting dealt with discussions on the latest developments on the Libyan arena in light of the special relations between Egypt and Libya and its people, and the well-established Egyptian policy regarding the stability of Libya on the political and security levels as part of Egypt’s stability.

The Egyptian President welcomed the Libyan leaders, praising their constant keenness to enforce the will of the brotherly Libyan people and preserve their national interests, with the aim of restoring security and stability in Libya, as well as preserving the sovereignty and unity of the Libyan state.

Egyptian efforts to support Libya

President Sisi affirmed that Egypt will continue its efforts to coordinate with all Libyans during the coming period, in a way that contributes to ensuring the unity and cohesion of Libyan national institutions, leading to the holding of the important parliamentary and presidential elections expected by the end of this year, as well as preventing foreign interference that aims primarily to implement its own agendas on the The account of the Libyan people, as well as the expulsion of all foreign forces and mercenaries from Libyan territory.
