Zamalek defeats Maadi in the fourth round of the handball professional league


The men’s handball team at Zamalek SC defeated Maadi with a score of 32/21, in the fourth round of the Handball Professional League for the new local season 2021/2022.

Al-Ahly and Zamalek succeeded in achieving victory in the first and second rounds of their matches before yesterday’s summit match, which was held at the Suez Canal Authority Hall in Ismailia, and ended with the white team winning 32-27 to snatch the lead.

Saeed Abdel Moneim, Head of the Competitions Committee of the Handball Federation, announced in advance the professional league system for the new season 2021/2022, noting that it will be held in 3 stages.

Abdel Moneim said, in a statement to “The Seventh Day”, that the first phase of the professional league witnesses the presence of 18 teams to play a tournament from one group and with them linked 2002, 2004 to qualify for the first 6 to play on the competition and the 12 are divided into two groups, singles and pairs, to determine the 4 relegated.

Abdel Moneim indicated that the top 6 qualify, 4 of whom qualify to play two combined tournaments to determine the champion, stressing that the Al-Ahly and Zamalek poles will meet 5 times throughout the three stages of the new season, as well as a possible confrontation in the Egypt Cup.
