Dr. Ashraf Noer, head of the Civil Aviation Authority, ordered the formation of a committee to investigate the issue of the Egyptian “Fly Egypt” plane, whose four tires exploded while landing at Cluj-Napoca Airport in Romania, on its way back to Cairo.
Informed sources with the Civil Aviation Authority said that the Romanian authorities allowed the plane to take off without passengers, and the authority decided to seize the plane’s papers and its daily and periodic maintenance schedules for follow-up.
The sources indicated that the plane, whose tires exploded, was a “Boeing B 737-7”, and recorded the letters “su – TMM”, and took off from Hurghada International Airport yesterday, Friday, to Cluj-Napoca Airport, Romania, flight No. FT 3101, and the sources added that the number of passengers The plane reached 113 passengers, including 13 in business class, 100 in economy class, and 6 crew members.
And sources in the civil aviation sector confirmed that the pilot was surprised by the tire explosion during landing, and was able to maintain the plane’s path as much as possible with no injuries in the accident, and the safety of all passengers on board, and that the damage included injury to the plane’s tires only, and the runway was closed to tow aircraft for maintenance
