Dr. Mohamed Awad Taj El-Din, Adviser to the President of the Republic for Health and Prevention Affairs, said that Egypt is still in the upward wave for the fourth wave of the Corona virus, as there is an increase in the number of cases day after day.
Taj El-Din added, in a telephone interview to the “Al-Hekaya” program, with the journalist Amr Adib, that the numbers that come out daily are a reflection of a previous period of two or three weeks, adding: “Prevention of the virus is an important thing, as well as obtaining vaccinations to prevent severe complications of this.” The disease, and the state carried out a great political epic to provide these vaccines, and the president personally carried it out, and the state has so far paid about 300 or 400 million dollars to purchase these vaccines from multiple sources despite the scarcity of the vaccine globally because of its lack of availability.
And the president’s advisor continued: “So far, only 4% of the population of Africa has received vaccination, and a large percentage of them are in Egypt despite the availability of funds in Africa, but Egypt has obtained this amount of vaccines to protect humans, pointing to the importance of steps to vaccinate Egyptians, especially in the Education and universities for protection within the community.
He explained that anyone who suffers from symptoms in the upper or lower respiratory system is diagnosed with corona unless proven otherwise, and the treating doctor must be consulted immediately, adding: “There are two symptoms that should not be tolerated, namely difficulty breathing, and a severe rise in temperature. That is more than 38 degrees, and if there is a problem with oxygen below 92, that needs to be hospitalized.”
He continued, “It may not prove PCR The virus is initially positive and the percentage of positivity is 63%, and a person may have corona and prove negative, and there may be 37 of the 100 people who have corona and this is not proven by a swab, so we must rely a lot on the person’s clinical condition, such as loss of sense of smell or taste And severe cracking in the body and diarrhea, and all people should get the Corona vaccine.”
With regard to influenza vaccination, he said that vaccination is very important for groups who suffer from chronic chest diseases, heart diseases, immunodeficiency and the elderly, commenting: “If circumstances govern and the situation is needed in such an epidemic, a person can obtain the two vaccines in one day, provided that all A shoulder vaccine, and the seasonal influenza vaccine for the target groups is very important,” he added, adding: “Currently, many clinical trials have been conducted on several groups of pregnant women and young people, and it has become permissible for pregnant women, pregnant women, or breastfeeding mothers, to obtain vaccinations to reduce their infection with severe symptoms at the same time. It protects the child in the first months from contracting these diseases, and if vaccination is approved, we will study the vaccination.”
