Today, Sunday, the Ministry of Tourism and Antiquities issued a decision to administratively close a hotel located in the Red Sea Governorate, due to its failure to implement health requirements and precautionary measures, which affected the safety of its guests and harmed the reputation of the Egyptian tourist destination and the quality of services provided.
Hotel license revocation
Abdel-Fattah Al-Asi, Assistant Minister of Tourism and Antiquities for the control of hotel facilities, shops and tourist activities, said that the hotel manager was also suspended and his license was withdrawn, in addition to preventing the hotel from receiving visitors until their conditions are reconciled, and all health observations of the hotel were avoided and full compliance with the controls and procedures established in this regard.
The ministry stated that this comes within the framework of the supervisory role of the Ministry of Tourism and Antiquities and its keenness to follow up on an ongoing basis to ensure the commitment of all hotel and tourist establishments in the Egyptian governorates, and to confirm that the ministry will not allow any abuse in the context of its keenness to preserve Egypt’s tourist reputation and the quality of services provided in the Egyptian tourist destination. .
According to information obtained by Al-Arabiya.net from Egyptian sources, 21 Russian tourists and Estonians, including children, suffered mass poisoning after eating breakfast yesterday, Saturday, in a tourist hotel.
She said that the injured were transferred to a private hospital, and the hotel residents were transferred to another hotel.
For his part, the Russian consul in Hurghada is following up on the details and the condition of the injured, while a number of tourists have begun to recover after receiving the necessary aid.
