The General Administration of Holy Qur’an Affairs, headed by the Al-Azhar Institutes Sector, announced the details of the Grand Imam Dr. Ahmed Al-Tayeb, Sheikh of Al-Azhar’s Sheikh, for the Holy Qur’an for the third year in a row.
According to the Public Administration, the competition this year will be conducted in two phases, the first of which is for students of private offices for memorizing the Noble Qur’an, and the second for students of Al-Azhar institutes and Al-Azhar University. The examination is carried out by internal committees formed by the region, in which those with scores exceeding 80% rise to the final filter.
As for the second stage, it is held in the general court of the region, in which the committees concerned with the tests of the contestants are formed by the General Administration for Quran Affairs from various regions, where members of the committees are delegated from outside the scope of the regions, to test the students who have passed the first stage, and prizes are given to students with high scores that exceed 90% or more.
The competition is conducted on three levels, the first level: memorizing the entire Holy Qur’an in thirty parts, the second level: memorizing twenty parts, and the third level: memorizing ten parts of the Qur’an.
Students of private offices are entitled to participate in the competition at the three levels, while students of the preparatory stage are entitled to participate in the competition at the first and second levels only, and students of the secondary and university levels are entitled to enter the competition at the first level only.
