The former Libyan football star, Ahmed Al-Musali, said that his country should take advantage of the randomness in the performance of the Egyptian team during the expected match between them today, Monday, in the World Cup qualifiers.
The Libyan national team will host its Egyptian counterpart in a decisive match, at the “Benghazi” stadium, as part of the fourth round of the African qualifiers for the World Cup finals, scheduled for winter 2022 in Qatar.
Al-Masli said, in statements to the Egyptian radio “On Sport”, “I see that Javier Clemente (the coach of the Libyan national team) will rely on an offensive way of playing, instead of the defensive shrinkage that the team appeared in the confrontation between them at Burj Al Arab.”
He added: “The Libyan team is required to exploit the randomness in the performance of the Egyptian team, and translate this into control and goals. I see that the current generation of Egypt is less technical than previous generations that represented the Pharaohs, as the current team lacks solutions and spirit.”
He continued, “Clementi will use some elements, which did not participate in the basic formation during the Burj Al Arab match, led by Hamdo Al-Huni. In the event that Libya scores a goal, the Egyptian team will miss solutions and focus, and we have to do that.”
The Egyptian team had won a difficult victory over its Libyan guest (1-0), in the third round match, which brought them together last Friday, at the “Borg El Arab” stadium, to raise its score to 7 points, and take the lead in the sixth group of the “Mediterranean Knights” team. by one point.
