Dr. Tarek Shawky, Minister of Education, commented on what he said were “circulated conversations” regarding the use of volunteers to fill the teachers’ deficit in schools.
Shawky added, during a telephone interview on Sada Al-Balad channel, on the Tahrir Hall program, that many are talking about not appointing graduates of the Faculty of Education, but the appointment door for the state administrative apparatus has been closed, and therefore the appointment is not available to us.
The Minister of Education explained that he is trying to find resources from outside the budget to bridge the deficit: “Therefore we always urge parents to pay the expenses, because we will not be able to set a limit or prove it,” noting that the teachers deficit amounts to 260,000 teachers, and that every 30,000 teachers cost the state one billion. pounds according to the minimum wage.
The minister pointed out that the Ministry of Finance has set an amount of 20 pounds for the share, and whoever has the time and desire to apply, provided that he is qualified.
The Minister of Education confirmed that there is a response from a large number of teachers to the teachers volunteer initiative, explaining that priority will be given to volunteers in the future if an opportunity becomes available.
