It is scheduled to close the door for receiving applications for candidates at seven in the evening today.
Before the last day, 8 candidates came forward for different seats: Lawyer Khaled Suleiman for the presidential seat, Amri Farouk for the vice president seat, Omar Rabie Yassin, Abdul Rahman Al-Ayachi and May Atef for the underage membership seats, Manar Saeed, Muhammad Al-Ghazazi and Ahmed Ghait for the over-age membership seats.
A source at Leila Koura said that Al-Amri Farouk, Muhammad Al-Ghazawi and May Atef are on the list of Mahmoud Al-Khatib, the current president, who announced his bid for the elections and has not yet officially submitted his papers.
According to Al-Ahly’s special bylaw, the board of directors consists of 12 individuals, the president, the vice president, the treasurer, and 9 members, including two members for youth under the age of 35 on the date of the nomination window.
Muhannad Majdi and Al-Damati are on Al-Khatib’s list
Muhammad Al-Damaty, a member of Al-Ahly’s board of directors, and his colleague Muhannad Magdy submitted papers to nominate them this morning, Friday, for over-age membership seats.
A source at Leila Koura said that the duo is on Mahmoud Al-Khatib’s list.
