Darren Bennett advises Mohamed Salah to stay in Liverpool and warns him against Real Madrid and Barcelona

Former Aston Villa and Tottenham player Darren Bent has urged Egyptian Mohamed Salah to reject Real Madrid and Barcelonas offers to stay in Liverpool.

The Egyptian international is currently ranked as the best player in the world, after he scored a hat-trick in the 5-0 victory over Manchester United, the tenth consecutive game in which Mohamed Salah scored with Liverpool to raise his score to 15 goals.

Reportedly, an agent requested Mohamed Salah, Rami Abbas Issa, a significant increase in his client’s wages to stay in Liverpool.

The 29-year-old’s contract expires in 2023, which means he can negotiate with other clubs in just 14 months.

Bent believes that the Spanish giants Real Madrid and Barcelona do not have the ability to attract Salah to Spain.

Bennett said in statements published by “Talk Sport” website via “Drive”: “There are not many clubs that Mohamed Salah can go to.”

He added: “You look at Barcelona or Real Madrid, neither of them have the financial capacity at the moment, I know they made a crazy offer for Kylian Mbappe, but it seems because they are ready to sign him, they are in the reconstruction.”

Drive host Andy Goldstein suggested that Salah could leave Liverpool to join a “bigger club”, amid uncertainty over his contract, an idea promptly shut down by Bennett and guest Jack Wilshere.

Bentek said: “Real Madrid and Barcelona are not like that now, but Liverpool is a huge team, where would you prefer to go now?”

He stressed, “When you talk about the biggest clubs in the world at the moment, in terms of who can go on and win the Champions League, I think of Liverpool, Chelsea, Manchester City, Paris Saint-Germain and Bayern Munich.”

And he concluded: “If Barcelona or Real Madrid come up with an offer for me now while I am in LeferballI’ll stay where I am.”
