Drogba: I congratulated Mohamed Salah on equalizing my record in the English Premier League

The former Ivorian star Didier Drogba revealed that he congratulated the Egyptian star Mohamed Salah, the Liverpool striker, after he equaled his record as the highest African player to score goals in the history of the English Premier League with 104 goals.

Egyptian star Mohamed Salah scored his 104th goal in the English Premier League, against Watford last Saturday, equaling the record for Ivorian star Drogba.

The former Ivorian star of the Chelsea team spoke to the French channel “Canal Plus”, saying: “I sent him a message congratulating him, I am happy for him, he is in good shape now and I hope he continues.”

Mohamed Salah scored 104 goals in the English Premier League in 166 matches, while Didier Drogba scored the same number of goals in 254 matches.

Mohamed Salah is the top scorer in the English Premier League this season with 7 goals, equal to Leicester City’s Jimmy Vardy, after 8 rounds of the competition’s life.

Mohamed Salah became Liverpool’s all-time leading scorer in the Champions League, with 31 goals, after scoring a double against Atletico Madrid, surpassing the record of former Reds star Steven Gerrard with 30 goals.
