The FIFA president put forward the idea of Israel hosting the World Cup in 2030, along with other countries in the region, led by the United Arab Emirates.

Countries are rushing to host the FIFA World Cup finals in 2030, on the centenary of the launch of the world championship, by presenting joint files, the last of which are four Balkan countries, namely Bulgaria, Greece, Serbia and Romania.

No Balkan country has ever hosted a World Cup, and before its collapse in 1991, Yugoslavia hosted the European Championship in 1976.

The South American Football Confederation (CONMEBOL) wants the continent to host the 2030 edition of the tournament, on the centenary of the first World Cup hosted by Uruguay in 1930.

Many countries have expressed their desire to host the 2030 World Cup, most notably Argentina, Chile, Uruguay and Paraguay, which will submit a joint file.

Spain and Portugal also expressed their desire to host, as did Greece, Bulgaria, Serbia and Romania, in addition to England and Ireland.

Morocco, which made five unsuccessful attempts to win the right to organize the World Cup, including the 2026 edition, is also seeking to organize the 2030 edition.

In turn, the English Football Association announced, in 2018, its intention to conduct a feasibility study to submit a joint bid to host the 2030 World Cup, with Northern Ireland, Scotland and Wales.

The first edition of the World Cup (1930) was held in Montevideo, the capital of Uruguay, which wants to commemorate its centenary.

As for Argentina, it hosted the tournament once in 1978, and won the title that year, and again in 1986 in Mexico.

The International Federation (FIFA) is scheduled to choose the host country or countries for the 2030 World Cup in 2022, on the sidelines of the next edition of the cup hosted by Qatar, knowing that the 2026 World Cup will be held in the United States, Canada, and Mexico, and it will be the first with the participation of 48 teams instead of 32.
