Amer Hussein, a member of the Clubs Association, revealed the initial date of the summit between Al-Ahly and Zamalek in the Egyptian League for the 2021-2022 season.

It is expected that the summit will be held in the third round of the Egyptian League, and the date has not yet been determined.

Amer Hussein said on On Time Sports: “There is no way to postpone the summit, because we do not have the luxury of time, and the summit match will be November 4 or 5, and we hope that what happened in the past two seasons will not be repeated by postponing one of the two matches and then playing them within 20 days.”

He added, “Zamalek chose the Cairo Stadium and Air Defense stadiums for the new season, and Al-Ahly chose Al-Ahly Stadium, we are peace, and Cairo Stadium as an alternative.”

He continued, “All clubs have specified their stadiums, except for Egypt for the clearing. The two stadiums are Fayoum and Beni Suef, but they are not qualified to apply video technology, and we seek to find an alternative in light of the club’s suffering from a financial crisis due to the lack of a sponsor.”

He continued, “We bear the responsibility of 18 clubs and their obligations, including satellite broadcasts, sponsorship contracts, and others, in light of the many engagements in the new season. We presented a new vision for the clubs in the Mexican and Argentine leagues, to rest the clubs between the two seasons, but 16 clubs refused.”

He explained, “This proposal would have provided us with 10 rounds. Most of the clubs refused for technical, marketing and financial reasons. Only the Arab Contractors and Al-Ahly Bank agreed.”

He concluded, “It is better to announce the full schedule, we are waiting to determine the World Cup for clubs and the African Super, for Al-Ahly’s participation in the two tournaments, to appreciate the delays that anger and ridicule people.”
