Al-Ahly tied with Gendarmere National with one goal for each team in a match held at the Nigerien team’s stadium in the first leg of the 32nd round of the African Champions League.
Douri, who scored the equalizer, told FilGoal.com: “Al-Ahly is among the best African clubs and is a great team, so we had to respect the team first and foremost. It has continental titles and has players with great experience, and their coach is great, of course.”
“We were at home and had the opportunity to achieve a positive result, but we have to realize that Al-Ahly has great experience,” he added.
He added, “We took time in the first half to notice how Al-Ahly played, but after they got a penalty kick, we managed the match well and managed to score the equalizer.”
He continued, “We only have a 30% chance of advancing to the group stage. We will come to Egypt to learn against a team like Al-Ahly.”
“Egyptian football is the highest level in Africa, so it’s a very good tournament. If I get the chance one day to play in Egypt, I’ll be happy.”
