The Dutchman said in a press statement: “Coutinho was good. He played freely and this gave us better control of the match. He knows how to score goals.”
“Coutinho has taken an important step towards returning to his level, I have always trusted him. Physically, he is improving little by little,” he added.
“Sergio Aguero is an important player because of his quality and experience. We want to give him some minutes and he will be better physically to help the team. It’s not about quality, it’s about fitness.”
Coutinho and Aguero participated as substitutes in the meeting, which brought Barcelona to seventh place in the championship standings.
The meeting was the first for veteran striker Aguero, who joined the team earlier this season, and injury prevented him from participating in previous matches.
