Manchester United coach Ole Gunnar Solskjaer revealed the reason why Cristiano Ronaldo was excluded from the starting line-up against Everton in the seventh round of the English Premier League, just before the international break.

Solskjaer said in a press conference held today, Friday: “Ronaldo is an exceptional player, a scorer and a professional player and it is difficult to exclude him. I think that anyone would love if he could play 6 matches in 6 days with the same formation all the time.”

He added, “But we have to rotate because we need to reach the end of the mark with maximum readiness and readiness.”

He continued, “Last season we arrived in May and we were very tired, I manage the players for the club, of course it is great that Ronaldo is on the pitch and he will always provide us with solutions the longer he plays and the better for us.”

Solskjaer revealed the inclusion of Marcus Rashford in the squad that prepares to meet Leicester City, without clarifying whether he will participate or not.

Solskjaer refused to talk about the matches between Atalanta and Liverpool, saying: “I am thinking about the Leicester City meeting. We must think about each match separately.”

He continued, “We have added distinguished attacking players and scored many goals and this is a good time to be a player in Manchester United’s attack and we have to do that continuously and preserve the DNA of United while defending well.”

United will visit Leicester City tomorrow, Saturday, to meet it in the eighth round of the English Premier League.

United scored 14 points, evenly with Manchester City, Everton and Brighton, but it ranks fourth, compared to the third for its neighbor, the fifth for Toffees, and Albion because of the goal difference.

On Jesse Lingard, Solskjaer said: “We want to extend his contract. He is an important player for us and the decision is up to him. Perhaps also me to give him more time to play because he deserves it. He started the season well and scored some very important goals for us.”

Lingard’s contract expires at the end of the current season, and press reports indicate his refusal to renew until after obtaining guarantees of playing more basic.
