Actress Naglaa Badr sparked widespread controversy after appearing in a striking and daring dress on Red Carpet, at the opening ceremony of the fifth edition of the El Gouna Film Festival.

She wore a long black dress, distinguished by the presence of a bold and exposed leg opening in the chest area, which sparked controversy on social networking sites, and grabbed the public’s attention.

Najla responded to the criticisms leveled at her during a telephone interview on the “Al-Hekaya” program, presented by the journalist Amr Adib and broadcast on MBC.

Najlaa said: I was surprised by the criticism and was very nervous. The situation I was exposed to was more than I could bear. The dress was designed by Farida Temraza, and when we chose the dress, I chose the most beautiful and not the most naked

And she continued: The dress cannot be classified as the most nude, and there is a “elephant” fabric, but it did not appear in the camera, this type of light fabric is not captured by the cameras, and most artists praised the dress and told me, “You are wearing a piece of art.”

She added, I did not mean to wear a bold dress, otherwise I would open the second text of the dress, in addition to the fact that the specifications of nudity are not present in the dress because the chest area is covered, the dress is not exposed, so my chest was not visible as well as the half of my stomach and the other part of the dress is long, with a neck and long sleeves.

She concluded her speech by saying: I was surprised and upset about what happened, and the people around me told me that there was no need, and I, thank God, preserved the lining, and I do not mean to offend any colleague, as tastes differ, and festivals address the world, and the specifications of evening dresses in the world are open, and the biggest proof of this is that veiled women wear pieces of clothes under the dress

It is worth noting that the dress was designed by Farida Tamraza, the Egyptian fashion designer, jewelry from Dima Gallery, and makeup by makeup artist Heba El Sheshtawy, according to what Najla announced through her account on “Instagram”.
