Klopp reveals Naby Keitas position on the Atletico Madrid match


Liverpool coach Jurgen Klopp announced that Reds midfielder Naby Keita may be absent from next Wednesday’s match against Atletico Madrid, in the match that brings them together in the fourth round of the group stage of the Champions League.

Keita was injured in Liverpool’s match against Brighton yesterday, Sunday, after suffering a thigh muscle injury, in the match that ended in a 2-2 draw in the 10th round of the English Premier League.

Klopp said in statements to the official Liverpool website: “Kita suffers from a thigh muscle injury, and I do not have additional information at the moment. He will undergo some tests tomorrow or the day after tomorrow, and then the picture will become more clear. Usually the player is not ready for the next match when he suffers an injury like this, So I don’t expect him to play on Wednesday.”

Klopp is expected to suffer due to the absence of Naby Keita against Atletico Madrid in the center of the field, in the absence of Fabinho and Harvey Elliott due to injury.

Liverpool regained the services of Thiago Alcantara, the team’s midfielder, after suffering an injury in a match against Crystal Palace.

Liverpool leads the table of Group B in the Champions League with a full score from 3 matches, after winning over Milan, Porto, and Atletico Madrid.

It is expected that Keita will undergo some tests to determine the extent of the injury and how long the Reds is supposed to miss.
