Ramy Abbas, the agent of Egyptian star Mohamed Salah, arrived in England yesterday, to hold talks with Liverpool regarding a new deal with a weekly salary of 500,000 pounds, while the English press revealed that negotiations will continue between the player and the club during the current week.
Abbas believes that after Salah’s impressive performance this season, he is able to successfully manage negotiations and reach half a million pounds a week’s salary, after Salah is seen as one of the most important players in the Liverpool team led by coach Jurgen Klopp.
According to the newspaper, “The Mirror”, Salah’s agent and the club have started preliminary talks about a new deal for the Egyptian player, who currently receives a weekly salary of 200,000 pounds, according to a contract that continues until the summer of 2023, and the newspaper suggested that Salah would receive a significant increase in his salary, after a coach said Liverpool is in a better condition than Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo, after scoring a wonderful goal against Watford yesterday, to win Liverpool five clean.
The newspaper confirmed that Liverpool sporting director, Michael Edwards, is keen to link Salah to extending the contract, after he finally agreed to terms with Van Dijk, Alisson and Alexander Arnold, while the newspaper “Sport Mail” reported that Liverpool wanted to extend Salah’s contract for another two years until 2025. In a record deal for Merseyside club, he kept the Egyptian star until he reached the age of 33, and extended his career at Anfield to eight years.
And the newspaper considered that such a move would be beneficial for Liverpool, who are looking to add more to their cup treasury over the coming years.
