Amer Hussein, a member of the Egyptian Professional Clubs Association, confirmed that some amendments will be made to the dates of the Egyptian League after announcing the date of the Club World Cup.

Hussein said, in televised statements to “Sada Al-Balad” channel: “We will make a number of amendments to the league dates after the dates announced by FIFA for the Club World Cup.”

He added, “There are three CAF Champions League group matches during the month of February, which will have a significant impact on the league schedule.”

He continued, “If the African Super is held in February, Al-Ahly will not be able to play the second round match of the group stage of the African Champions League on schedule.”

He stressed: “Now everyone knows that there is a very big problem facing us. We follow the African Union as well as the International, so we have to wait until we know the dates of all the engagements in order to complete the league table.”

Amer Hussein concluded his statements by saying: “My talk is here for those who demanded setting the schedule for the matches of the Egyptian competition in full.”

It is noteworthy that the date of the FIFA Club World Cup in which Al-Ahly is participating contradicts the African Nations Cup held in Cameroon, in which Egypt is participating. (see details)
