Apple has announced a free service program for iPhone 12 and iPhone 12 Pro users, and as part of the program, the iPhone maker will fix sound issues on both devices, as some Apple iPhone 12 and iPhone 12 Pro users are experiencing an issue affecting their phones speakers.

It should be noted that not all iPhone 12 and iPhone 12 Pro devices are affected by the issue, with only a “very small percentage” of users affected and these include those manufactured between October 2020 and April 2021.

“Apple has determined that a very small percentage of iPhone 12 and iPhone 12 Pro devices may experience audio issues due to a component that may fail the receiver… If your iPhone 12 or iPhone 12 Pro isn’t making sound from the receiver,” the company said. When you make or receive calls, they may be eligible for the service.”

Owners of affected devices can visit Apple Stores or an Apple Authorized Service Provider, the service will be free and Apple will not charge any fees for repair, noting that the iPhone 12 mini and iPhone 12 Pro Max models are not part of this program.

The program covers affected iPhone 12 or iPhone 12 Pro devices only for two years after the unit was first retailed, and in the event that your iPhone 12 or iPhone 12 Pro suffers any damage that impairs the ability to complete the repair, such as a cracked screen, Apple says the problem will need to be resolved before service, and there may be a cost associated with additional repairs.
