Mahmoud Fayez, the former coach of the Egyptian national team, and the assistant coach of the current Congolese national team, confirmed that Argentine Hector Cuper was nominated to coach Zamalek in the previous period.
Fayez said in televised statements to “On Time Sports 1”: “Ibrahim Abdullah, a member of the former Zamalek management committee, contacted me in order to contract with Cooper to coach the team officially after the departure of Carteron.”
And he continued, “During this period, Zamalek was mined, and things were difficult, despite his participation in the semi-finals and final of the African Champions League, but Cuper preferred to coach a national team, despite a suitable offer.”
In a related context, Fayez added: “I am a professional man and I wish to train Al-Ahly or Zamalek, or any of the newly promoted clubs to the Egyptian Premier League.”
Fayez concluded his statements by saying: “Al-Ahly is distinguished from Zamalek, due to the administrative stability throughout the ages.”
